Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career following taking a class at Stanford University. Following a handful of roles, such as in Pleasantville as well as Election. Witherspoon, in her first days after finishing high school and looking into an occupation as a doctor in order to provide for her parents, considered abstaining from acting for the rest of her life. The actress won the Catalonian International Film Festival Best Actress Award in 1996 due to her performance in Freeway. She deferred college for a period of time in order to concentrate on acting. She also briefly did a course in English literature at Stanford University before deciding to return to working. In 2003 she debuted as a movie star in The Invisible Man. In the following years, she was a part of several shows on television, such as House of Lies Whitney, Better Call Saul and The Invisible Man. In addition, she appeared as a character in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). She is an accomplished artist and painter, in as well as a renowned actress.
