April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. Ross is among the few female players of beach volleyball to have done so. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll try to win her third gold medal with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. More than that though Ross is aiming to capture her first Olympic gold. The next chance she'll ever have as she is 39 years old. However, she is certain of taking top honors. If we perform at our very best or even if we perform well, I think we'll win the gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was a Californian born in the city of Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area with her mother, father and younger sister. Apart from playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. When she was a student in the prep school she played the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball and running track. In her final game, she clearly stood out. The college bio says that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career during high school. She was named the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross has been working with Klineman from 2017. However, Ross's beach game was established well before this. In fact, she won several major championships while playing in the past with two different partners. among them an icon of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until the year 2013. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international arena, taking home a 2009 world title together. In 2012, the pair took silver in London's Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor after she had retired. They both won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross played for the USC Trojans in college after graduating from the high school she attended. This was an impressive career for Ross in the college level. When she was a freshman in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 and NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. The Trojans also reached the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she was devastated by a personal setback but managed to repeat as an All-American. In her last two years she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross took a course in the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer when she was in her sophomore year at USC. Ross holds her mother dear. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her both at and off the beaches.
