Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actress. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 which makes her the second youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. In response to an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician, who emigrated to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. She moved into the United States as a teen. Paquin made her debut as a child with a role of the Jane Eyre title character in the Franco Zeffirelli novel Jane Eyre followed by an important role in Fly Away Home. Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 version of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The role she played was for teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She played groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
